Throughout New Zealand, including the Chathams and southern islands. Campbell Island (type). Fossil from the lower Pleistocene onward. Abundant amongst intertidal coralline algae, but also down to at least 170 fathoms.
Shell small, subcircular, inflated, and almost equilateral. Sculpture consisting of fine concentric striations. Colour variable; white (typical), the beaks tinged with carmine (sanguineum), or pale yellowish, blotched at the beaks with reddish-brown (citrinum).
Height 2.3-3.0 mm., length 2.6-3.6 mm., thickness 1.0-1.8 mm.”

Neolepton antipodum is een tweekleppigensoort uit de familie van de Neoleptonidae.[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1880 door Filhol.
