Apocynum androsaemifolium var. pumilum A. Gray. Some taxonomists have combined the two varieties (which also also sometimes referenced to as subspecies) into a single species, but I am here following Welsh (2008 and prior) and Cronquist (1984). This variety differs from var. androsaemifolium by its more cylindric or urecolate shaped corolla that does not dilate apically, shorter floral bracts, and by its usually erect or ascending follicles (which as in both varieties are in pairs).July 30, 2011, Neff's Canyon, Salt Lake County, Utah, approx 5735 ft. elev.
