Favites halicora is a species of coral belonging to the family Merulinidae.[1] The species was first described in 1834 by Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg as Astraea halicora.[2][3]

The species is found in Indian and Pacific Ocean.[1]

Colonies are massive, either rounded or hillocky. Corallites have very thick walls and tend to become subplocoid. Calices average 10 mm in diameter. Budding is both intra- and extratentacular. Paliform lobes may be developed. Colour: Abundance (Veron, 1986).
