Indigofera jaliscensis Rose. Contr, U. S. Nat Herb. 8: 310. 1905.
Shrubby below, the ■branches angled, grooved, densely strigose; stipules setaceous, 4-6 mm. long; leaves spreading, 5-10 cm. long; rachis and petiole strigose, grooved above; leaflets 1 1-21, oblong, or the terminal ones obovate, rounded or obtuse at each end, strigose on both sides, 8-20 mm. long; racemes 1-2 dm. long, usually exceeding the leaves; calyx 1.5 mm. long, ferruginous-strigose; corolla not known; pod ovoid, acute, 3 mm. long, 2 mm. thick, 1-seeded; seed globose, 1.5 mm. thick.
Type locality: Rio Blanco, Jalisco.
Distribution; Jalisco and Morelos.
