Aechmea (Livingvase) is a genus of perennial herb in the family bromeliads. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and The Neotropics. Flowers are visited by Phaethornis, Violet-capped woodnymph, Leucochloris, and White-throated Hummingbird. Individuals can grow to 28 m.
