Gammarus pecos, commonly known as the Pecos amphipod,[2] is a species of crustacean in family Gammaridae. It is endemic to Pecos County, Texas in the United States, where it is known from only two locations: Diamond Y Spring (sometimes known as Wilbank Spring) and Leon Creek.[1]
Gammarus pecos is classified as a vulnerable species by the IUCN Red List.[1] A portion of the spring and cienega habitat inhabited by this species is now protected as part of the Diamond Y Spring Preserve, a nature reserve, owned by the Nature Conservancy.[3]

Gammarus pecos is een vlokreeftensoort uit de familie van de Gammaridae.[2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1970 door Cole & Bousfield.
De soort komt endemisch voor in de Verenigde Staten. Hier is het alleen bekend van de Diamond Y Spring (ook bekend als de Wilbank Spring) en Leon Creek. Beide noordwestelijk van Fort Stockton, Pacos County, Texas[3]
De soort staat als kwetsbaar op de rode lijst van bedreigde soorten van de International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). Samen met Gammarus hyalelloides en Gammarus desperatus vormt G. pecos het Gammarus pecos complex. Alle drie de soorten zijn qua verspreiding begrenst tot de vallei van de Pecos rivier in Texas en New Mexico.[4]
