Myocastor coypus (Nutria) is a species of rodents in the family American spiny rats. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, and The Neotropics. They are nocturnal herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 144 months and can grow to 519.4400000000001 mm. Reproduction is viviparous. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming to move around.
