Most of the nemerteans found were 1-1.5mm long and 0.5mm or less in maximum width, although a few larger specimens (up to a maximum length of about 15mm) were also obtained. The body is rounded at either end and of a more or less uniform width throughout. The two dark reddish-brown eyes are clearly distinguishable just in front of the cerebral ganglia. In recently fed individuals the intestine and its diverticula exhibit the same vivid orange hue as the eggs of the host and give the worms a transversely banded appearance; the nemerteans are otherwise a translucent off-white colour.
