Test free, of firm to doughy consistency and easily broken. Lumpy, irregularly rounded in form and composed of numerous anastomosing branches. Occurrence: Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, 3660-4829m. Type species Cerelasma gyrosphaera Haeckel, 1889.
