Hemiaulus membranaceus is a species of diatoms in the family Hemiaulaceae. They are native to Rio Grande Do Sul, Sergipe, Rio De Janeiro, SãO Paulo, Santa Catarina, Amapá, Paraná, Pernambuco, Alagoas, and Rio Grande Do Norte. Dead Hemiaulus membranaceus form siliceous oozes.
