African Snook

Lates niloticus (Linnaeus 1758)

Lates niloticus (African Snook) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family snooks. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Togo, Senegal, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Kenya, Democratic Republic Of The Congo, Mauritania, Benin, Nigeria, Guinea, Liberia, Ghana, Uganda, Egypt, and Guinea-Bissau. They are carnivores. Individuals can grow to 200 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
