Distinguished from other beardless species of Garra by the following combination of characters: body with black mid-lateral stripe; extreme part of snout with a pair of enlarged horned-like tubercles; a transverse groove before nose parting the snout as two parts; absence of proboscis; a pair of minute rostral barbels; mental adhesive disc is small with its width being ½ of the head width at the same locality; anteromedian fold crescent; lateroposterior flap around; central callous small and indistinct; absence of gill rakers on the outside of first gill arch; inner side of the first gill arch with 15 gill rakers; scales on lateral line 21; and scales around caudal peduncle 12 (Ref. 85557).Description: Dorsal fin ii-8; anal fin ii-5; pectoral fin i-16; ventral fin i-9 (Ref. 85557).
