Uredinia hypophyllous, thickiy scattered over wide areas, or somewhat gregarious, bullate, round, small, 0.1-0.2 mm. across, arising between epidermis and mesophyl, enclosed by colorless paraphyses united into a pseudoperidium, dehiscent by central pore, overarching epidermis persistent; urediniospores ovate-globoid, 16-19 by 21-26 fi; wall pale-yellow, thin 1 />, rather closely echinulate, pores obscure ; paraphyses colorless, delicate, hyphoid at the sides of the sorus, forming a membrane with polygonal cells above.
