Sporobolus virginicus is a species of perennial herb in the family true grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Maranhao, Cerrado, Pampa, Rio Grande Do Sul, Alagoas, Bahia, Mata Atlântica, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Pernambuco, Caatinga, Florida, Rio De Janeiro, Paraná, Puerto Rico, Atlantic And Gulf Coastal Plain (Agcp), Piauí, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande Do Norte, The Contiguous United States, Espirito Santo, Hawaii, SãO Paulo, ParaíBa, Pará, U.S. Virgin Islands, AmazôNia, Eastern North America, and Middle America. They have simple, broad leaves and brown flowers. Individuals can grow to 2 feet.
