They are native to Pará, Eastern North America, Pampa, The Contiguous United States, Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, Amapá, Mata Atlântica, Santa Catarina, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Paraná, Rio Grande Do Sul, AmazôNia, Mato Grosso, Puerto Rico, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Cerrado, U.S. Virgin Islands, GoiáS, and Acre (Brazil). They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 56 cm.
