Torchio et al. (1967) describe a nest collected in Cochise Co. AZ and one collected in Rodeo NM, USA. Other females were collected foraging at flowers of Malacothrix. One nest was destroyed in excavation, so only the nest from AZ is described. It was located burrowed 10 - 12 cm deep into soil in unshaded, horizontal dirt. Lateral burrows branched off the main burrow led to cells. The lateral burrows were plugged after the cells were provisioned. These burrows were typically about 4 mm long, but could be as long as 10 mm. Cells were typically in groups of two, in a linear series (that is, filling up the burrow) at the end of the lateral burrows, but in two cases a lateral burrow contained only one cell. This species is apparently solitary as no multi-female nests were found.
