In 2004 the flats at this location were covered in white Calandrinia umbelliformis flowers - not stones.

Calandrinia crispisepala has a pink-purple flower with a white centre. It has 5 petals, 9-10 stamens and grows in red sandy, iron-rich, stony, clay or laterite soils. It is a tuberous, perennial plant.It is found in the Murchison and Yalgoo Regions. Photos: Jean

Caladrinia primuliflora grows to a height of 10cm, in large numbers on sandy soils October to November. Often other Calandrinia grow with them. Here it was growing with Calandrinia umbelliformis (white with yellow stamens)The plants grow over a large area including the Murchison, Yalgoo and Coolgardie regions.Photos: Jean
