Weeskindertjies[1] (Nemesia cheiranthus E.Mey. ex Benth.) is 'n plant wat endemies aan Suid-Afrika is. Dit kom in die noorde van die provinsie Wes-Kaap en die aangrensende dele van die Noord-Kaap voor (Namakwaland). Dit word op die SANBI-rooilys as 'veilig' (LC) gelys.[2]
Dit is 'n eenjarige en taamlik kort, kruidagtige plant van 30 cm hoog wat ook in Engelse tuine geplant word omdat dit mooi en taamlik uitsonderlike geelwit blommetjies dra, waarvan die boonste blomblaadjies soos kloutjies lyk. Dit verklaar die wetenskaplike naam cheiranthus: cheir = hand en anthos =blom in Grieks.
Die basis van die blombare het 'n pers kol wat insekte lok en aandui waar hulle die nektar kan vind. [3]
