Nectamia fusca és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels apogònids.

Descripció

Alimentació

Es nodreix durant la nit d'invertebrats.[7]

Hàbitat

És un peix marí, associat als esculls[8] i de clima subtropical (30°N-28°S) que viu entre 6 i 14 m de fondària. Els juvenils es refugien dins de les esponges de mar.[9][5]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba des del mar Roig[10] i l'Índic (llevat de les Seychelles, Txagos, Maurici, Reunió i Rodrigues) fins a Tonga, Samoa, les illes Marshall i les illes Fènix.[5][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36]

Estat de conservació

Pot ésser afectat per amenaces localitzades territorialment (com ara, la pesca amb cianur, la decoloració dels coralls, invasions de determinades espècies d'estrelles de mar i la degradació del seu hàbitat a causa del turisme).[9]

Observacions

És inofensiu per als humans.[5]
