Guillenia lasiophylla is a species of mustard plant known by the common names California mustard and slenderpod jewelflower. It is native to western North America from British Columbia to northern Mexico. It can be found in a variety of habitats such as desert flats, gravelly areas, limestone rocks, talus slopes, sandy banks, and grassy fields.[1] This is a thin-stemmed erect annual herb with long lobed, toothed leaves surrounding the base of the plant and smaller leaves lining the stem. The top of the plant is occupied by an inflorescence of flowers, each with widely spaced oval-shaped white or yellowish petals half a centimeter long. The fruit is a flat, narrow silique up to 7 centimeters long which hangs downward from the stem. Flowers bloom March to June.[1]

Guillenia lasiophylla es una especie de planta perteneciente la familia Brassicaceae. Es nativa de América del Norte occidental desde Columbia Británica hasta el norte de México. Se puede encontrar en una gran variedad de hábitats.
Es una planta con un delgado tallo erecto herbáceo anual con hojas largas lobuladas y dentadas en torno a la base de la planta y hojas más pequeñas revistiendo del tallo. La parte superior de la planta está ocupada por una inflorescencia de flores, cada una ampliamente ovalada de color blanco amarillento o pétalos de medio centímetro de largo. El fruto es una estrecha silicua de hasta de 7 centímetros de largo que cuelga del tallo.
Guillenia lasiophylla fue descrita por (Hook. & Arn.) Greene y publicado en Leaflets of Botanical Observation and Criticism 1(18): 227. 1906.[1]
Guillenia: nombre genérico que fue otorgado en honor del padre Clemente Guillen de Castro (1677/1678-1748), Jesuita mexicano.[2]
lasiophylla: epíteto latino que significa "hojas lanosas".[3]
