Acalypha indica L. Euphorbiaceae. CN: [Malay - Pokok kucing galak, Pokok batuk kucing, Pokok ceka emas, Cika Mas, Lis-lis ], Indian nettle, Copperleaf, Indian acalypha, Three-seeded-mercury. Native of most tropical Africa and Asia; elsewhere naturalized or cultivated. Decoction prepared from roots and leaves mixed with ginger extract used in folk-medicine for the treatment of rheumatism and arthritis. Throughout the area where the plant grows, it is widely known for it's effect on domestic cats, which react very strongly to the plant, particularly the roots.Ref and suggested reading:
