Amyris texana (Buckley) P. Wilson & Torreya
Zanthoxylum texanum Buckley, Bull. Torrey Club 10: 90. 1883. Amyris parvifolia A. Gray, Proc. Am. Acad. 23: 226. 1888.
A glabrous aromatic shrub, 1-2 m. tall, the twigs, petioles and inflorescence densely glandular ; leaves alternate, 3-foliolate, short-petioled ; leaflets somewhat leathery, ovate, narrowly ovate or rhombic-ovate, 1-3 cm. long, 5-15 mm. broad, obtuse or retuse at the apex, rounded, subtruncate, or cuneate at the base, irregularly and coarsely or doubly crenate, short-petioluled or subsessile ; flowers in terminal corymbose panicles ; calyx 1 mm. broad ; sepals broadly ovate or broadly triangular ; petals oval or obovate, 2.5-3 mm. long, 1.5-2 mm. broad ; anthers oval or orbicular ; ovary ovoid or ovoid-oblong ; stigma capitate sessile ; fruit not seen.
Type locality: Near Corpus Christi, Texas. Distribution : Texas and adjacent Mexico.
