Notosolenus (note-owe-so-lean-us) a heterotrophic euglenid flagellate. The cells are rigid, the surface is ridged, and the cell has one well developed flagellum projecting from the front and a second, usually short, flagellum trailing under the moving cells (the second flagellum is not visible in this micrograph).
