描述:

Description: A puzzling find. These fungi keyed out as L. vulpinus, but to my knowledge this species doesn't have any peculiar smell, while our find had strong aniseed odor. Moreover, fruitbodies were very, very large and massive - the whole cluster must have weighed at least a kilogram, and individual fruitbodies were as big as a grown man's hand. They were also darker than typical L. vulpinus Aniseed odor is characteristic of another Lentinellus (L. suavissimus). I can't exclude the possibility that we're dealing with another (undescribed or rare) Lentinellus species. It is quite possible here in the rich forests of Yugra - the typical European mycota here is "diluted" with typical Far Eastern and even North American species (e.g. Morchella tomentosa). We discover something completely new every year. Date: 9 September 2014, 17:11. Source: Lentinellus cf. vulpinus. Author: Tatiana Bulyonkova from Novosibirsk, Russia.
