Mat-forming perennial herb with spreading, more or less prostrate branches growing from a strong woody rootstock. Leaves in a basal rosette or crowded on short stems, up to c. 6 mm long, linear, glandular hairy with silky-white margins above, silky woolly below, particularly on the margins and veins. Capitula solitary or in small clusters. Involucral bracts shiny white or buff, 6-seriate, up to 8 mm long. Florets numerous, pale yellow.
