Leaf-blades elliptic, occasionally varying to obovate, 4-11 cm. long, often slightly acuminate, but blunt at the apex, ultimately glabrous, shining and somewhat veiny above, slightly revolute in age, cuueate at the base, short-petioled ; pedicels permanently pubescent ; sepals ovate to oblong, 4-5 mm. long, the glands about one half the length of the sepal-body; larger petals 7-9 mm. long, the blades suborbicular, denticulate; ovary and style glabrous ; drupes 3-lobed or rarely 2-lobed, about 1 cm. in diameter, orange-yellow.
Type locality : West Indies. Distribution : Cuba and Jamaica.

Leaf-blades oblong or elliptic, varying to oblanceolate or lanceolate, or narrowly obovate, 3-11 cm. long, obtuse or acute, glabrous, bright-green, slightly paler beneath than above, acute at the base, short-petioled; pedicels finely pubescent when young; sepals ovate to oblong-ovate, 2.5-3.5 mm. long, the glands one half the length of the sepal-body or less ; larger petals 6-7.5 mm. long, the blades suborbicular, denticulate; ovary and style glabrous; drupes ovoid, 2-lobed, 9-13 mm. in diameter, red or orange.
Type locality : West Indies.
Distribution : Bahamas, Hispaniola, Porto Rico, and the Lesser Antilles ; Yucatan.
