Has 6 broad, dark brown, vertical bars on the sides; a large blotch on caudal-fin base; a narrow vertical stripe on the caudal fin; an incomplete lateral line ending about above the anus; 8+8 branched caudal-fin rays (Ref. 27732). Anterior nostril with a pointed tip reaching anterior margin of eye; incomplete lateral line reaching anus; 8 1/2 branched dorsal rays; 8+8 branched caudal rays (Ref. 39226). Caudal fin emarginate (Ref. 39226). Dorsal fin origin above or slightly behind pelvic-fin insertion (Ref. 12693).

Morfologia
Els mascles poden assolir els 3,5 cm de longitud total.[5]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a la conca del riu Mekong al centre de Laos[6] i el nord de Cambodja.[2][5][7][8][9][10][11][2][12]
Amenaces
Les seues principals amenaces són les modificacions antropogèniques del seu hàbitat (com ara, la desforestació, les activitats agrícoles i la construcció de preses).[8]

Schistura daubentoni is a species of ray-finned fish in the stone loach genus Schistura. Iyt is found in the middle Mekong drainage in central Laos and northern Cambodia, including the Tonlé San and lower Kong River and it is considered that it is probably found in the reaches of the Mekong between these areas and in eastern Thailand. The specific name honours François d’Aubenton a zoologist at the Muséum National d’Histoire naturelle in Paris, who collected type specimen in 1964.
