Found associated with rocky streams with large granite boulders and granite bedrock above 60m asl in rainforest and mesophyll vine forest with Melaleuca emergents. It is often seen sitting on rocks, vines and twigs adjacent to cascades and riffles. It shelters under rocks and vegetation.Breeds in summer with the onset of the wet season. Males can be heard calling in late November.

Cape Melville tree frog ( İngilizce )

The Cape Melville tree frog (Ranoidea andiirrmalin) is a species of frog in the subfamily Pelodryadinae.[2][3] It is endemic to Australia, and has been found only in Queensland, in Cape Melville National Park.[3] Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and rivers.[1]

It was first described by Keith McDonald in 1997 as Litoria andiirrmalin,[2][4][5] but was transferred to the genus Ranoidea, by Dubois and Frétey in 2016.[2][6]

Litoria andiirrmalin es una especie de anfibio anuro del género Litoria de la familia Pelodryadidae. Es endémica del Parque nacional Cabo Melville (Australia).[1][2][3]

Estas ranas viven en campos de rocas cerca de selvas tropicales. Son difíciles de estudiar porque sus montañas son difíciles de escalar. De 2004, los científicos solo los habían visto en cuatro arroyos.[1][3]

Dryopsophus andiirrmalin est une espèce d'amphibiens de la famille des Pelodryadidae[1].

Répartition

Cette espèce est endémique du Nord du Queensland en Australie[1]. Elle se rencontre dans le Parc national du Cap-Melville dans quatre cours d'eau au-dessus de 60 m d'altitude sur le versant Est de la chaîne Melville ce qui représente 5 700 km2[2].

Description

Les mâles mesurent de 66,1 à 75,6 mm et les femelles de 92,3 à 109,7 mm[3].

Étymologie

Son nom d'espèce andiirrmalin signifie grenouille en Gambiilmugu.
