Occurs in forest streams of the foothills zones, usually in clear, slow to fast flowing waters, preferring quieter areas along the shores; commonly found in shallow waters (less than 5-15 cm) such as puddles in the forest (Ref. 56749). Feeds on worms, crustaceans insects and plant matter (Ref. 7020).

Barbodes everetti,[1] the Clown barb or Everett's barb is a species of cyprinid fish native to Borneo and Sumatra. It inhabits clear streams in forested foothills and can also be found in forest floor puddles as shallow as 15 centimetres (5.9 in) or less. Its diet consists of small crustaceans, worms, insects and plant material. This species can reach a length of 15 centimetres (5.9 in) TL. It can also be found in the aquarium trade.[2]

Distribuzione e habitat
È diffuso in torrenti dalla corrente non troppo intensa e piccoli laghi poco profondi in Sumatra e Borneo, spesso all'interno di foreste[1].

Riproduzione
È oviparo e la fecondazione è esterna. Non ci sono cure nei confronti delle uova.
Alimentazione
È onnivoro e si nutre sia di piante che di piccoli invertebrati come insetti e crostacei[2].
Acquariofilia
Può essere allevato in acquario.
