In general form this species resembles B. tenue but the leaves are shorter, xerophytic and thick. The bractlets are also shorter and the fruit ridges narrowly winged. This has been collected from the type locality only.

Perennial, c. 50 cm tall, branched from the base. Leaves few; basal linear, veins 7-9; lower and the upper leaves shorter, 5-20 mm long, linear to broadly linear, bases narrow, 7-9 veins, apices mucronate. Involucral bracts 1-2, minute or lacking. Rays 3-5, quadrangular, unequal, up to 1.5 cm long. Involucel of 3-5 linear bractlets, 1 mm long, shorter than the flowering umbellet, veins 3, apex acute. Pedicels as long or slightly longer than the flowers. Fruit oblong, 3 mm long; ridges narrowly winged; furrows 1-vittate; commissure 2-vittate.
