Description ( İngilizce )

Herbs or small shrubs. Leaves opposite, sometimes markedly different, entire or toothed. Flowers solitary in axils or borne in spikes or panicles. Calyx deeply divided into narrow segments. Corolla narrow below, broader above, with a 5-lobed limb, the lobes sometimes unequal but the corolla not 2-lipped. Fertile stamens 4 or sometimes 2 with 2 staminodes. Bracts small and inconspicuous. Ovules 2 per loculus. Capsule oblong or linear.

Strobilanthes cusia (Chinese rain bell)

Strobilanthes is a genus of about 350 species[2] of flowering plants in the family Acanthaceae, mostly native to tropical Asia and Madagascar, but with a few species extending north into temperate regions of Asia. Many species are cultivated for their two-lipped, hooded flowers in shades of blue, pink, white and purple. Most are frost-tender and require protection in frost-prone areas.[3]

Species

Strobilanthes flexicaulis, endemic to Taiwan.

Strobilanthes atropurpurea is a temperate species, native to eastern Siberia; it is cultivated for its purple flowers.

Strobilanthes dyeriana (Persian shield) is a tropical plant native to Myanmar. It is grown for its dark green foliage with bright, metallic-purple stripes radiating outward from the central leaf vein. In proper conditions, it will also produce pale purple flowers. Persian Shield grows best outdoors in USDA zones 9 and 10, although it can survive in other zones as a houseplant given sufficient temperature, soil moisture and humidity. It has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.[4]

Strobilanthes species are food plants for the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Endoclita malabaracus, which has been recorded on S. callosa.

Obejmuje w zależności od ujęcia ok. 250[3] do ponad 400[4] gatunków (współcześnie zalicza się tu szereg dawniej wyodrębnianych rodzajów takich jak: Aechmanthera, Hemigraphis, Stenosiphonium[4]). Występują one w strefie tropikalnej i subtropikalnej z centrum zróżnicowania w Azji Południowo-Wschodniej, na obszarze od Indii (60 gatunków rośnie tylko w południowej części tego kraju) po Japonię i Jawę[3]. W Chinach występuje 128 gatunków[4]. Rośliny te rosną najczęściej na dnie lasów, gdzie rozwijają zwykle jesienią swoje efektowne kwiaty. Spotykane także w formacjach zaroślowych i trawiastych[3][4]. Wiele gatunków jest uprawianych jako rośliny ozdobne, zwłaszcza jako okrywowe (przedstawiciele dawniej wyróżnianego rodzaju Hemigraphis), wykorzystywane są jako rośliny lecznicze i dostarczające barwników[4].

Byliny i półkrzewy zwykle do 2 m wysokości[3], ale np. S. sexennis do 8 m[4].
Liście
Naprzeciwległe, zwykle ząbkowane, czasem srebrzyste z wierzchu[3].
Kwiaty
Zebrane w kłosopodobne kwiatostany szczytowe lub wyrastające w kątach liści. Kwiaty wsparte są wąskimi przysadkami. Kielich tworzony jest przez cztery lub pięć działek, zrośniętych tylko u nasady. Płatki są zrośnięte w długą i wygiętą rurkę zakończoną 5 mniej więcej równymi łatkami. Korona ma barwę fioletową, niebieską, żółtą lub białą. Pręciki dwa lub cztery, z czego dwa wykształcone jako prątniczki. Zalążnia górna, dwukomorowa, z dwoma zalążkami w każdej z komór. Szyjka słupka pojedyncza z asymetrycznie dwudzielnym znamieniem[3].
Owoce
Torebki zwykle z czterema nasionami[3].

Стробилянт (лат. Strobilanthes) — род цветковых растений семейства Акантовые.

Внешний вид

Стробилянт Дьера:

  • листья овальные, с длиннозаострённой верхушкой, супротивные, сидячие, до 30 см длиной и 10 см шириной;
  • молодые листья серебристо-фиолетовые по жилкам и тёмно-зелёные по краю, снизу фиолетово-пурпурные, с возрастом фиолетовая окраска теряется
  • сроки цветения: обычно в летний период

Распространение

Стробилянт (Strobilanthes) — травянистое вечнозелёное, многолетнее растения и кустарники, которое относится к семейству Акантовых, распространённые в тропической Азии и на Мадагаскаре, также — в Америке; в культуре — Стробилянт Дьера.
