Hortiboletus is a genus of fungi in the family Boletaceae. It was circumscribed in 2015 by Giampaolo Simonini, Alfredo Vizzini, and Matteo Gelardi.[1] The erection of Hortiboletus follows recent molecular studies that outlined a new phylogenetic framework for the Boletaceae.[2][3] Hortiboletus is derived from the Latin word hortus "garden", referring to a typical habitat of the type species, Hortiboletus rubellus. The bolete H. bubalinus, originally described as a Boletus and later placed in Xerocomus, was transferred to the genus by Bálint Dima.[4] In 2015, Alona Yu. Biketova transferred Boletus campestris and Boletus engelii to Hortiboletus.[5]

Jest to nowo utworzony rodzaj. W wyniku prowadzonych w ostatnich latach badań filogenetycznych w obrębie rodziny borowikowatych (Boletaceae) nastąpiły znaczne przetasowania w jej systematyce.
Niektóre gatunki posiadają tradycyjne nazwy polskie, które nie są już obecnie spójne z nazwą naukową.
W Polskiej literaturze występuje jedynie Hortiboletus rubellus, jednak podobieństwo między gatunkami podgrzybków oraz nieznajomość wśród zbieraczy utrudnia potwierdzanie stanowisk[2][3].

Hortiboletus[1][2] är ett släkte av soppar tillhörande familjen Boletaceae som på molekylärfyletisk grund[3][4] beskrevs av Giampaolo Simonini, Alfredo Vizzini och Matteo Gelardi 2015 för att till att börja med endast inrymma rödsopp Hortiboletus rubellus (tidigare Boletus (Xerocomellus) rubellus).[5] Därefter har ytterligare arter som tidigare placerades i släktena Boletus, Xerocomellus och/eller Xerocomus förts över och några helt nybeskrivna arter tillkommit. Namnet har bildats genom tillägg av prefixet horti-, "trädgårds-", som syftar på rödsoppens typiska växtplatser.
