Inhabits rock and coralline ledges and caves (Ref. 9710). In Socotra Archipelago, it is mainly recorded from the north coasts from hard coral communities including those dominated by Millepora and Porites, and encrusting and massive Agariciidae, Pectiniidae, and Mussidae, as well as from mixed communities of macroalgae and hard corals on rock platform and mixed encrusting communities on exposed rock platform, and a near vertical rocky drop off (Ref. 88695). Occurs in colonies. Has been reared in captivity (Ref. 35413).

Pseudochromis sankeyi, the striped dottyback, is a species of ray-finned fish from the Western Indian Ocean which is a member of the family Pseudochromidae. It occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It grows to a size of 7 cm in length. The specific name honours the British collector and wholesaler of marine fish Richard D. Sankey, who gave Roger Lubbock study specimens.

Vissen Pseudochromis sankeyi is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van dwergzeebaarzen (Pseudochromidae).[2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1975 door Lubbock.
De soort staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als niet bedreigd, beoordelingsjaar 2009.[1]

桑氏擬雀鯛，為鱸形目鱸亞目擬雀鯛科的其中一種，為熱帶海水魚，分布於西印度洋亞丁灣及紅海東南部海域，深度2-10公尺，本魚體延長而側扁，最大特徵為頭部及身體顏色黑白相間，體長可達7公分，棲息在岩礁或珊瑚礁區的洞穴中，具有領域性，屬肉食性，生活習性不明，可做為觀賞魚。
