Prionurus scalprum és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels acantúrids.[4]
Descripció
- Pot arribar a fer 50 cm de llargària màxima.
- 9 espines i 22-24 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal i 3-4 espines i 21-23 radis tous a l'anal.
- Presenta una glàndula verinosa.[5][6][7]
Hàbitat
És un peix marí, associat als esculls[8] i de clima subtropical (24°C-28°C) que viu normalment entre 2 i 20 m de fondària.[6][9]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba al Pacífic nord-occidental: des de la badia de Matsushima (el Japó) fins a Taiwan.[6][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]
Observacions
És verinós per als humans.[6][21]
