Description: Characterized by bluish grey to olive grey body color, paler on ventral parts; angular, squarish protuberance at front of head in adults; caudal peduncle with pair of bony plates, each with large keel with forward projecting point; greatest depth of body 2.4 (subadults)-3.0 in SL (Ref. 90102).

體呈長橢圓形而側扁；尾柄部有二個盾狀骨板，各有一個龍骨突。頭小，隨著成長，在眼前方之額部逐漸突出而形成瘤狀突起。口小，端位，上下頜各具一列齒，齒稍側扁且尖銳，兩側或有鋸狀齒。背鰭及臀鰭硬棘尖銳，背鰭硬棘V，軟條數28-31；臀鰭硬棘II，軟條數26-29。

Naso mcdadei és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels acantúrids.[3]
Descripció
- Pot arribar a fer 75 cm de llargària màxima.
- 5 espines i 28-31 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal i 2 espines i 26-29 radis tous a l'anal.[4][5]
Alimentació
Menja algues i zooplàncton.[6]
Hàbitat
És un peix marí, associat als esculls i de clima tropical (10°S-22°S, 114°E-124°E) que viu entre 5 i 65 m de fondària.[4]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba des de l'Àfrica Oriental fins a la Gran Barrera de Corall, incloent-hi el mar de Timor.[4][7][8][9]
Observacions
És inofensiu per als humans.[4]
