Gammaracanthus er en slekt innenfor overfamilien Gammaroidea (parvorden Gammaridira, infraorden Gammarida) - innenfor Senticaudata-gruppen av tanglopper. Denne gruppens arter lever i både ferskvann og i havet, og har en sirkumpolar utbredelse i innsjøer, brakkvann og grunt hav i Nordområdene og Arktis. Arten trollistidskreps er utbredt også i Norge

Tre av gruppens fire arter ble oppdaget og beskrevet av den norske marinbiologen Georg Ossian Sars.

Gruppens taksonomi

Gruppen ble systematisert på ny i 2003.^[1] En moderne oppdatering av systematikken gis nedenfor i lys av 2013-revisjonen med basis i WoRMS-databasen.^[2]
