Si tratta di uccelli dall'aspetto robusto, muniti di becco conico e allungato, ali arrotondate, coda dall'estremità squadrata e zampe forti.
Il piumaggio è in massima parte di colore verde brillante, con orlo delle ali (ad eccezione delle remiganti primarie, che presentano orlo di colore giallo) azzurro: il ventre mostra una lieve sfumatura giallastra, mentre fronte, guance, gola e petto (come del resto intuibile dal nome comune) sono di colore giallo limone.
Il dimorfismo sessuale è poco evidente, con femmine dall'estensione e tonalità del giallo facciale minori rispetto ai maschi, i quali inoltre presentano un sottile cerchio di colore blu-azzurro attorno agli occhi e alla base del becco.
Il becco e le zampe sono nerastri, mentre gli occhi sono di colore bruno scuro.
Si tratta di uccelli dalle abitudini di vita essenzialmente diurne e solitarie (ma che durante la stagion degli amori tendono a muoversi in coppie), non di rado aggregandosi all'infuori del periodo riproduttivo a stormi misti in compagnia di altre specie affini: questi uccelli sono abitatori della canopia, dove passano la maggior parte della giornata alla ricerca di cibo, passando quasi inosservati in virtù della colorazione mimetica, sebbene brillante.
Si tratta di animali onnivori, la cui dieta si compone di frutta, semi e piccoli invertebrati reperiti fra il fogliame.
Mancano informazioni sulla riproduzione di questi uccelli, che tuttavia molto verosimilmente non differisce significativamente, per modalità e tempistica, da quanto osservabile nelle altre specie della famiglia.

De Palawanbladvogel is een bladvogel van gemiddelde grootte. De soort wordt inclusief staart zo'n 19 centimeter met een vleugellengte van 8,5 centimeter. De bovendelen zijn grasgroen van kleur. Het voorhoofd, keel en plek onder de ogen zijn geel. De streep onder de gele plek bij de ogen begint blauw en gaat over in wit of paars. De schouderveren en de aanzet van de buitenste vleugelveren zijn paarsblauw. De rest van de buitenste vleugelveren en middelste vleugelveren zijn zwart met een blauw randje. De binnenste vleugelveren zijn grasgroen. De borst en buik zijn limoenachtig groen. De staart is blauw met groen bovenaan en met grijs aan het einde. De snavel is zwart, de ogen bruin en de ring daaromheen paarsachtig bruin. De poten zijn grijs.
Van deze vogelsoort is niets bekend over de voorplanting in het wild.
Van de Palawanbladvogel zijn geen verschillende ondersoorten bekend. De soort leeft alleen of in een gemengde groep vogels (vooral buulbuuls) in de bossen, bosranden en struikgewas op de eilanden Balabac, Busuanga, Calauit, Coron, Dumaran en Palawan. Palawanbladvogels leven veelal boven in de bomen, zijn moeilijk waar te nemen en vallen vooral op door hun geluid.
De Palawanbladvogel heeft een redelijk groot verspreidingsgebied en daardoor is de kans op uitsterven gering. De grootte van de populatie is niet gekwantificeerd, maar gaat plaatselijk in aantal achteruit. Het tempo van achteruitgang ligt onder de 30% in tien jaar (minder dan 3,5% per jaar). Om deze redenen staat deze bladvogel als niet bedreigd op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN.[1]
