Oreothlypis is a genus of New World warbler. Most members of this genus for formerly classified in the genus Vermivora. However, the species then in Vermivora were more closely related to the flame-throated warbler and crescent-chested warbler, then classed in Parula, than to other species of Vermivora.^[1] Initially, the new genus Leiothlypis was proposed for these species by Sangster in 2008,^[2] but the American Ornithologists' Union opted to classify them along with the flame-throated and crescent-chested warblers in the existing genus Oreothlypis, though accepted the change in 2019.^[3]

Oreothlypis es un género de aves de la familia de los parúlidos del orden de los paseriformes. Está integrado por un número no definido de especies (en razón de que los especialistas no se han puesto de acuerdo), las que nidifican en América del Norte y Central, migrando algunas especies hacia el sur en el invierno. Etymologia

Nazwa rodzajowa jest połączeniem słów z języka greckiego: ορος oros, ορεος oreos – „góra” (to znaczy wulkan Irazú, Kostaryka) oraz θλυπις thlupis – niezidentyfikowany mały ptak, być może jakaś zięba lub pokrzewka. W ornitologii thlypis oznacza albo cienkodziobą tanagrę lub, jak w tym przypadku, lasówkę^[5].

Podział systematyczny

奥利奥森莺属（学名：Oreothlypis）是雀形目森莺科的一属鸣禽。

该属的大多数物种原先属于虫森莺属。但后来发现，这些物种与火喉森莺、月胸森莺的亲缘关系比虫森莺属的其他物种更近。^[1]于是桑斯特（Sangster）于2008年提出将这些物种划为一个单独的新属——雷奥虫森莺属（Leiothlypis）。^[2]不过最终美国鸟类学家联合会决定将它们与火喉森莺、月胸森莺一同划入已存在的奥利奥森莺属。^[3]
