Hyperolius ferrugineus Laurent 1943

A rather small Hyperolius (females 30 mm) from R. D. Congo, only known from one specimen. Colour in alcohol rusty red-brown with numerous silverish spots, especially on the flanks and limbs, forming a band on the femur. This species was described based on a single sample, and nothing is known of its biology or overall distribution. It is included based on Laurent’s authority.

Hyperolius ferrugineus is a species of frog in the family Hyperoliidae. It is endemic to Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, swamps, freshwater marshes, and intermittent freshwater marshes.
