This species lives on wood in almost 4000 m depth in the Eastern Atlantic. The first specimens of this species were collected by the submersible Alvin in 1978 and later described by Robert Zottoli.

Endecamera palea is een borstelworm uit de familie Ampharetidae. Het lichaam van de worm bestaat uit een kop, een cilindrisch, gesegmenteerd lichaam en een staartstukje. De kop bestaat uit een prostomium (gedeelte voor de mondopening) en een peristomium (gedeelte rond de mond) en draagt gepaarde aanhangsels (palpen, antennen en cirri).
Endecamera palea werd in 1982 voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven door Zottoli.
