Test fairly soft and agglutinating cement present in large quantities. Xenophyae occur in varying amounts and arranged in no obvious order. Each particle surrounded by cement so that there is no contact with adjacent particles.

Discusión
Algunas clasificaciones han incluido Cerelasmidae en el suborden Astrorhizina[4] del Orden Astrorhizida,[5] al rebajar a los xenofióforos a la categoría de superfamilia (superfamilia Xenophyophoroidea) y relacionarlos con este grupo de foraminíferos.
