Candelariella aurella, the hidden goldspeck lichen or eggyolk lichen, is a yellow crustose lichen in the family Candelariaceae. It is commonly found on calcareous rock or wood or bark exposed to sunlight and which may have calcareous dust in areas with lime soils.[2] The thallus is areolate with scattered small (0.1–0.3 mm), rounded to elongated yellow areolas.[2] It has a global distribution and occurs on limestone and calcareous sandstone in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, California, and Baja California.[2] It occurs in Joshua Tree National Monument.[3]
Phoma candelariellae is a species of lichenicolous (lichen-eating) fungus that has been documented parasitisising the apothecia of Candelariella aurella individuals in Europe. Infection by the fungus results in reduced ascospore production, and eventual destruction of the hymenium of the affected apothecia.[4]

Канделярие́лла золоти́стенькая (лат. Candelariella aurella) — вид лихенизированных аскомицетов, включённый в род Канделяриелла (Candelariella) семейства Канделяриевые (Candelariaceae).
Таллом накипной, очень тонкий, зернистый, жёлтого, оранжево-жёлтого или зеленовато-жёлтого цвета, часто слаборазвитый и малозаметный. Апотеции 0,2—0,7(1,5) мм в диаметре, многочисленные, разбросанные по слоевищу, с плоским, затем выпуклым диском светло- или ржаво-жёлтого цвета с цельным или разорванным краем. Эпитеций (внешний слой апотеция) золотисто-жёлтого цвета, теций бесцветный, гипотеций бледный.
Аски восьмиспоровые, булавовидной формы. Споры часто двуклеточные, эллиптической формы, 16,5—23,5×6,5—8 мкм.
При контакте с раствором KOH слоевище не меняет цвета, приобретает красноватый оттенок или становится более ярко-жёлтым. Теций с иодом синеет.
Встречается на известняках и богатых известью почвах, нередко на черепице и цементе, изредка — на обработанной древесине. Широко распространённый на равнинных ландшафтах вид, известный в Евразии, Северной Африке, Гренландии, Северной и Центральной Америке.
