Wcislo et al. (2003) describe the nesting biology of Augochlora alexanderi based on a single nest (the first ever discovered) from Montanita, Colombia, ~500m elevation. The nest was in a fallen stick ~1m above the ground and contained 4 active and 7 inactive cells. Cells were constructed within cavaties, and were connected directly to the tunnel (no lateral burrows). There was one female and two males found in the nest. However, it appeared as if this nest was abandonded, and the adults were orphans that emerged from the brood cells, thus nothing can be inferred about social structure.
Augochlora alexanderi is een vliesvleugelig insect uit de familie Halictidae. De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 2003 door Engel.[1]
