Body with 12-15 dark bars, regularly shaped and set; complete black bar at caudal base reaching dorsal and ventral midlines; complete lateral line; processus dentiformis slender; axillary pelvic lobe not reduced; pelvic fin situated vertical to first branched dorsal-fin ray; body elongated and head depressed; small median incision in upper lip (Ref. 40772).

Found in a stream with fast running water. Associated with Poropuntius deauratus (Cyprinidae), Pterocryptis cochinchinensis (Siluridae), and Schistura spiloptera. Apparently very rare.

Schistura bachmaensis és una espècie de peix de la família dels balitòrids i de l'ordre dels cipriniformes.[4]
Morfologia
Els mascles poden assolir els 5,7 cm de longitud total.[5]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a la conca costanera del riu Thua Luu (el Vietnam).[2][5][6][7][8][9][10]
Amenaces
Les seues principals amenaces són el desenvolupament urbanístic, la contaminació de l'aigua i la degradació de la conca fluvial on viu a causa de la pèrdua dels boscos de les terres baixes.[11]

Schistura bachmaensis is a species of ray-finned fish in the stone loach genus Schistura. It has been only been recorded in a single small stream with fast running water and boulders in Thua Thien Province of Vietnam.
