Schistura robertsi és una espècie de peix de la família dels balitòrids i de l'ordre dels cipriniformes.

Morfologia

Els mascles poden assolir els 5,6 cm de longitud total.^[3]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba a la Península de Malacca i a l'illa Phuket (Tailàndia).^[3]

Schistura robertsi is a species of ray-finned fish, a stone loach, in the genus Schistura. It is found on the western side of the Malay Peninsula from Tanintharyi Region in southern Myanmar to Trang Province in Peninsular Thailand and on Langkawi Island in Malaysia. It occurs in streams and hill creeks, inhabiting stretches with stream beds made up of gravel and small stones and it is threatened by developments for tourism, agriculture, livestock farming, residential property and commercial property.^[1] The specific name honours the American ichthyologist Tyson R. Roberts who collected most of the original type series which were used by Maurice Kottelat to describe the species.^[3]

Schistura robertsi is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van de bermpjes (Nemacheilidae).^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1990 door Kottelat.

Phuketsmerling (Schistura robertsi) er en smerling fra familien Nemacheilidae. De blir opptil 7cm lange og det er vanskelig å se forskjell på kjønnene. Som navnet tilsier, kommer arten fra ferieøya Phuket i Thailand der den hører til i regnskogsbekkene. Den finnes også ved innlandet.

I akvarium

Arten er ikke spesielt vanskelig å holde. Den har behov for skjulesteder som f.eks. røtter eller noen grotter. Akvariet bør være på cirka 80x35x40cm. De trives best i ph 6-7 og temperaturen bør ligge rundt 23-26 °C. Ha gjerne kraftig vannbevegelse i akvariet. De spiser levende fôr, frosset fôr og tørrfôr.
