Over muddy, sandy and rocky substrates all over Lake Tana, preferably in water deeper than 6 m. Juveniles feed on zooplankton and insect larvae. Adults feed on other fish (Ref. 35835).

Descripció
- Fa 41 cm de llargària màxima.
- És de color blanc platejat.[5][6]
Alimentació
Els juvenils mengen zooplàncton i larves d'insectes, mentre que els adults es nodreixen de peixos.[7]
Hàbitat
És un peix d'aigua dolça, bentopelàgic i de clima tropical (13°N-11°N).[5]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a Àfrica: és un endemisme del llac Tana (Etiòpia).[5][8][9][10]
Estat de conservació
Es troba amenaçat per la sobrepesca que pateix i la reducció en el nombre dels seus llocs de fresa.[11]
Observacions
És inofensiu per als humans.[5]

Vissen Labeobarbus acutirostris is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van eigenlijke karpers (Cyprinidae).[2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1940 door Bini.
De soort staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als Kwetsbaar, beoordelingsjaar 2009. De omvang van de populatie is volgens de IUCN dalend.[1]
