Parides chabrias (Hewitson 1852)

Parides chabrias is a species of butterfly in the family Papilionidae. It is found in Brazil (Amazonas), Ecuador and Peru. It is a woodland species. The female flies slowly near the ground, whilst the male has a swifter flight and generally remains at a considerable height.^[2] The larva feeds on Aristolochia burchelli and A. didyma.

The central area of the hindwing is situated somewhat further towards the margin than in ygdrasilla, consequently the cell-spot is smaller. Description

Parides chabrias est un papillon marron iridescent, avec une ornementation jaune pâle sous forme de points aux antérieures et d'un flaque aux postérieures, grande et disposée en position centrale chez Parides chabrias chabrias, disposée plus bas chez Parides chabrias ygdrasilla, de petite taille chez Parides chabrias mithras et de très petite taille chez Parides chabrias maraojara^[5].
