Raffles' malkoha komt voor op het schiereiland Malakka, Sumatra en Borneo. Het is een algemeen voorkomende vogel van verschillende typen bos zowel in het laagland als in heuvellandbos tot 900 m boven de zeespiegel.[3][4]
