Conidiogenous cells. Lateral on aerial hyphae, discrete, ampulliform. Conidia. Formed in basipetal succession, obovate or spherical, aseptate, colourless or pale, 2-3 μm. Ascomata. Maturing within 14 days, dispersed, pale olivaceous in reflected light, superficial, obovate or ovate, ostiolate, 220-380 μm, with a brown wall of textura intricata or epidermoidea; ascomatal hairs numerous, flexuous or undulate, unbranched, long, verrucose or nearly smooth, brown; indistinctly septate, 3-4 μm broad near the base. Asci. Fasciculate, clavate or fusiform, stalked, 8-spored, evanescent, 36-50 × 9-13 μm. Ascospores. Limoniform, biapiculate, bilaterally flattened, brown and rather thick walled when mature, containing numerous droplets, 11-15 × 8-11 × 7-8.5 μm, with an apical germ pore. Paraphyses. Not observed.
