Parkinsonia Africana is a smallish slender and sparsely branched tree, sporting robust spines. This species occurs chiefly in the Namib desert of Namibia, but can also be found in the extreme southwest corner of Botswana and in the northern part of South Africa. Flowers occur in lax racemes and are typically yellow; pods and seeds are brown. The leaves serve as browse for both game animals and livestock.
